MY STORY

I joined SecurityNational Mortgage Company in 2015 as a licensed loan officer and currently have licenses in twelve states, but who am I?

As someone with a passion for teaching and serving others, this led me to work in the public school system as a science, health and psychology teacher for seven years. Through my teaching experience I acquired the skill set needed to talk through loan options and programs with clients in a comprehensive way, enabling them to make the best-informed decision for their unique situations.

Volunteering has been a wonderful opportunity for me to give back to my community. I am an 18-year member of the Junior League of Salt Lake City, having served on the board as Finance VP and Projects VP. My real volunteer passion lies with the PTA. Acting as the treasurer for the District, Elementary, Middle School and High School for a combined total of 14 years!!! The volunteer focus on finance and helping others translates easily to the mortgage industry.

With Youthlic, which is service organization, I served on the health committees as a mentor. It has been a pleasure to travel internationally to Peru and Jamaica for humanitarian/cultural service trips. I hope to continue working with them for years to come.

I owned my own business Achiva Energy, along with my husband. We produced natural sports nutrition products with chia seeds as a primary ingredient. This was an exciting adventure where we were able to sell our products around the country including placement in Whole Foods. Life eventually took us another route, but business ownership is an experience that I’m happy to have had the opportunity to learn from.

In September of 2011 I had the opportunity to donate a kidney to a friend. This experience changed my life for the better. Through Living Donors Online, I’ve been able to encourage many prospective donors through sharing my experience. I’ve also been featured in a documentary titled Social Media Stole My Kidney.

More important than any of my life’s experiences is my family. I have been married to my high school sweetheart since 1997 and we have three beautiful, smart, funny kids. We enjoy spend time skiing, golfing, and traveling together.
