East Coast Region of SecurityNational Mortgage Company Announces $10,000 donation to The Florida Guardian ad Litem Program

Giving back to our local communities has always been an important mission for us at the East Coast Region of SecurityNational Mortgage Company. Last year our region helped 5 different charitable organizations including The Ronald McDonald House of Central Florida, The Pineapple Projects, Second Harvest Food Bank and Oldsmar Cares.

As we turned to the New Year, we wanted to find even more ways to give back and make a difference in 2021, so we looked to our fellow team members for inspiration and direction. This is where we found a special connection to The Florida Guardian ad Litem Program.

The Florida Guardian ad Litem Program is a voice advocating for the best interests of children who have experienced abuse, abandonment or neglect. Their goal is to help children find their way to a safe, loving and permanent home.

Rhonda Patton, Processor for The Bittman Group at SecurityNational Mortgage Company, has been involved with The Guardian ad Litem Program for many years and currently serves as a GAL volunteer advocate for children in her local program, Voices for Children. Rhonda spends countless hours of her time assisting children going through unimaginable and difficult circumstances.

Alex Cardenas, Regional Manager, has also been involved with The Guardian ad Litem Program for several years. Alex has served as a Board Member for Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Osceola County Inc. From 2014 to 2018 he served as the foundations treasurer. His direct efforts and involvement help the organization raise funds that go directly to aiding the hundreds of children needing assistance in the community.

Our regional efforts and connection with Guardian ad Litem date back to 2019. In recognition of Rhonda Patton, The Bittman Group at SNMC hosted a toy drive and fundraiser event which benefited Voices for Children of Hillsborough County. Voices for Children is the local partner and fundraising organization for Guardian ad Litem.
In 2020, we hosted Concert for Cause, which also benefited Voices for Children of Hillsborough County. Like many others, performers and musicians were hit particularly hard during the COVID pandemic. Being able to bring together musicians and bands in a safe environment for a good cause was a huge success. This unique virtual live event, which was broadcasted live through social media to thousands of viewers, helped raise thousands of dollars for Voices for Children and the Guardian ad Litem Program. This special event also assisted in generating positive awareness of the program and what they do for children.

Due to the passion of our team and our connection to this special program, we wanted further their efforts on a regional level. As the East Coast Region of SNMC, we are proud to announce this special donation of $10,000 in Target gift cards to the Florida Guardian ad Litem Program.

The gift cards will be spread among four different local foundations throughout Florida. They will be used to help children with things such as clothes, school supplies, toys, living costs, medical costs, after school activities and so much more.

The donations to each local foundation will be provided on behalf of our branches in Florida:

  • Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Tampa Bay, Inc.
    • Donation provided by Rhonda Pulver Smith, Branch Manager of The Elite Mortgage Team at SecurityNational Mortgage Company, located in in Seminole, FL
  • Voices for Children of Tampa Bay, Inc.
    • Donation provided by Michael J. Goetz, Branch Manager at SecurityNational Mortgage Company, located in Oldsmar, FL
  • Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Osceola County Inc.
    • Donation provided by Sandi Arbolino, Branch Manager, and Alex Cardenas, Regional Manager, at SecurityNational Mortgage Company, located in Lake Mary, FL
  • Guardian ad Litem Foundation, 20th Judicial Circuit
    • Donation provided by George Voukitchevitch, Branch Manager, and Aldo Milanes, Sales Manager, of V & M Mortgage Group at SecurityNational Mortgage Company, located in Ft. Myers, FL
  •

To celebrate these donations, we will be hosting presentations and events in each local market. To date, we have hosted two events and we have two more to come.

On Saturday, February, 27th, Rhonda Pulver Smith and the Elite Team hosted an event to celebrate the Guardian Ad Litem Foundation of Tampa Bay, Inc. Rhonda and her team went above and beyond by doubling the original donation for a grand total of $5,000 donated by her team.

On Tuesday, March 2nd, Mike Goetz and his team members hosted a check presentation for Voices for Children at our branch in Oldsmar, FL. The team was able to present their donation of $2,500 to Voices for Children.

Later in March we will be having presentations for both the Guardian ad Litem Foundation of Osceola County Inc., located near Orlando, FL and Guardian ad Litem Foundation, 20th Judicial Circuit, located near Ft. Myers, FL.

At the East Coast of SecurityNational Mortgage Company, we truly believe in being #MoreThanAMortgage. We believe there is so much we can do to be leaders and advocates for good in our communities. We are thankful for all the support from clients and partners, because without them, this would not be possible. We are grateful for the opportunity to give back.

We also want to thank the Guardian ad Litem for all the work they do in our communities. We are excited about this partnership and look forward to many great things in the future.

Lake Mary, FL – July 22, 2020

Our team in Lake Mary, FL moved offices earlier this year and had some older furniture they no longer needed sitting in storage. The team decided to seek out opportunities in their community for an organization, businesses or families that could use the furniture. The found a local organization, The Pineapple Projects, from a local news feature.

The Pineapple Projects is a local charity organization whose mission is to impact our community and give hope and happiness to sweet families in need of interior home essentials. By turning their house into a home we pray this lifts a burden and impacts them to share happiness with others they know in need.

Great work by our East Coast Region team for seeking out ways they can give back and make a positive impact in their local community,

Lihue, HI – May 1, 2020

Provided free chicken meals for 100 families.

Team members from our branch in Lihue, Hawaii recently donated free food to families in need. Hawaii is currently reaching high unemployment rates due to Covid-19. The Kauai branch usually uses their advertising budget for open houses, education seminars, and other events. However, they decided that money needed to help families who are literally starving in these uncertain times. So they partnered with Chicken In A Barrel BBQ to provide a free chicken meal to the first 100 families that stopped by the restaurant. They announced the event on local radio and their individual social media newsfeeds the day before.

They are planning more events in the coming weeks for both the community and first responders because Kauai is one big “Ohana” that helps to take care of its own! We are so proud of our Hawaii team and their efforts to give back to their local community
